(l) Letter counts against doubtful characters.
To make ΔΧ certain a new ordinary 32-letter count is made on the rectangle message MB2005, and also a 32-letter count against the doubtful 7th character, supposing it to be a cross. The letter count against the 7th character is decibanned from the complete letter count, for example for /'s the decibannage is .
In effect 7 runs are used; this makes ΔΧ1 certain. (cf 25D(g)3)
(m) Making ΔΧ2 certain.
The letter count on MB2004 suggests a slightly odd run for ΔΧ3, and also run for ΔΧ3. The previous letter count is used to deciban runs , , for ΔΧ2; ΔΧ3 becomes certain.
